Their No 6 then strode to the crease in possession of the ‘eye of a shit house rat’ and started banging it around (mainly off middle stump) to both Will’s and my dismay. He played some seriously ugly cricket shots, but effective he was and the score was rattling along.

Another game against the Hun and another easy victory was expected. Bowen was so confident of a punishing victory that he begged Griff to bat first if the toss was won, ‘Lets bat first, we can score a shed load!’
Glenwood

There was an air of unreality as the Canes took on the old foe – Glenwood, at Heath Park. Not only was there no Griff at the helm but the Gladiators line-up contained not a single Dobson. As if that wasn’t enough, after struggling for numbers on many occasions this year we had a total of 15 players all eager for a game.
